Step 1
Form a planning committee 6 months before the intended college reunion weekend dates. The most successful committees comprise 6 to 8 people who are trustworthy, enthusiastic and organized.
-
Step 2
Determine the logistics of your college reunion weekend. Depending on how large or small your college class was, choose what venue or venues you want to book and what kind of activities you think your attendees would enjoy.
-
Step 3
Get quotes from possible vendors and pick where you want to host your event or series of events. If the vendors require deposits, you may have to pool from funds from the committee members until you receive payment from the college reunion attendees later.
-
Step 4
Locate alumni and let them know their college reunion is coming up, either by sending an email, starting a website or sending postcards. You can get email addresses and postal addresses from the college or purchase them from a database service.
-
Step 5
Send out invitations. Include details such as dates, times, costs, locations, deadlines and your contact information.
-
Step 6
Round up and schedule volunteers who can help during the actual reunion weekend. Solicit attendees as well as your fellow committee members; the more, the merrier!
-
Step 7
Set up an after-party venue for the final night of the reunion weekend. Many attendees won't want that last night to end, so it doesn't hurt to have one more place for everyone to gather, even if it's informal place like a local bar.
