How to Invite Friends to a College Reunion

Time flies so fast that before you know it, your college reunion is here. What really makes your college reunion special is spending it with old friends you haven't seen in a while. Inviting these friends is a great way to catch up on old times and share what is going on in your life. Follow these steps to be sure you include everyone.

1. Find out when your college reunion is being held. Mark the date on your calendar.
2. Get out your old college yearbook. Make a list of your college friends that you would like to contact.
3. Research old addresses that you have. You may have their parent's addresses and telephone numbers. If not, contact the alumnae office at your college and see if they have a current telephone and email address for them.
4. Telephone your friends and find out how they have been. Keep the conversation light, happy and positive. Ask them if they know about the reunion, and invite them to come.
5. Send an email several days after you have telephoned if you did not get a response from them, or if they were undecided about attending.
6. Send invitations to the friends you were not able to contact by phone.
7. Make arrangements with your friends to meet outside of the reunion. This will give you extra time to spend one-on-one. Confirm your plans with them a week before the reunion.

Tips & Warnings

• Consider doing an Internet search to try to find alumnae if the alumnae office does not have updated records. Start first by searching in the state they grew up and in the state they went to college.
• Try to make plans to do something you used to do in college, like visiting a diner or a local hang out. It will be a real "blast from the past."
• Remember to bring photographs of your spouse, children and even pets. If you are not married, or do not have children, feel free to bring pictures of interest like vacations or special hobbies.
