Many women love lingerie but shopping for it can be a little intimidating. That's where the career of hosting in-home lingerie parties has found a niche. What used to be reserved only for bachelorette or bridal showers has now moved mainstream with a chance to earn some extra cash. Before signing with the first company you see, take a look at these tips on building your career hosting lingerie parties.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Find a company that sells items that you are comfortable with. Each company has a unique selection of items that can range from very mild to quite racy. You can't sell an item if you can't bring yourself to say the name or describe in detail what it does. You must be able to tell others about personal items and answer some very personal questions without blushing!
Step2
Understand the details of the contract you're considering. Many companies require you to purchase a stock of inventory to have on hand as an initial investment, others do not. Know what your financial limits to starting a career are and realize that, like many other businesses, it may take a while to build up clientele and start the income flowing.
Step3
Watch for multi-level-marketing schemes where you can become a sales representative, but make very little money until you are able to recruit others to sell underneath you. There are legitimate MLMs in the lingerie business, but tread carefully in this area and know all of the ins and outs of the company's compensation structure.
Step4
Sell, sell and sell! Once you've found the perfect company for you, it takes a lot of legwork to get your business up and running. Make calls to everyone you know, send out emails and hand out catalogs. Find a schedule that works with your personal life and start booking parties. Remember you will need to travel to other homes and spend hours there, so plan accordingly.
Step5
Save some for Uncle Sam! Taxes are inevitable, but most of these companies will consider you an independent contractor and you are responsible for paying Uncle Sam. Make sure to consult a tax professional to get the details of how much you should save from each pay check and if you elect to receive free merchandise rather than money, what your financial liability is.
Step6
Enjoy the spoils of victory! Many women are quite successful in hosting lingerie parties. For those who are willing to work, it can be quite a lucrative business. As many of the testimonials on companies' websites say, enjoy that luxurious vacation, spend time with your family and have that extra cash you've always wanted. Many promise that the parties will be filled with fun, and what's better than having fun while you work!
