No matter what you're trying to raise money for—be it a favorite charity, a school program or a club organization—lingerie parties make for an easy fundraising activity. They take intimate apparel out of the "unmentionables" drawer and thrust them center stage for all to see, admire and—most importantly—buy.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Decide whether the lingerie party will be open to the public or a private invitation-only affair. Consider selling tickets as part of your fundraising efforts if it's open to the public.
Step2
Determine who will provide, show and sell the lingerie: you or a representative from a direct sales lingerie company. Representatives are used to throwing lingerie parties and many times have fundraising programs already in place. After all, it's a good way for them to meet more people and generate additional business.
Step3
Present a variety of lingerie. Have men's lingerie and plus-sizes in addition to the regular assortment. The more people you appeal to, the more sales you'll make.
Step4
Let the merchandise sell itself. Some people will buy more if left to browse through racks at their leisure. Others want to be entertained, in which case you'd want to coordinate a lingerie fashion show.
Step5
Offer incentives to people who buy a certain amount of lingerie. For example, offer a discount if they spend up to a certain amount or give them a free gift.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep in mind you'll have to buy the lingerie if you decide to sell it yourself. Make sure whatever doesn't sell at your fundraising party is returnable so you don't lose money.
  • Check with a variety of direct sales lingerie company representatives about their donation amounts. For instance, some are only willing to donate 10% of the night's sales. Others split the take 50/50 as well as contribute an additional percentage of sales resulting from parties arranged while at the fundraising event.
  • Maximize sales by throwing your party during a time of year when buying gifts are on people's minds such as right before Valentine's Day or Christmas.
  • Advertise the event if it's one that's open to the public. People won't know it's happening if they don't hear about it.
