How to Invite Friends to a Debutante Ball
A debutante ball is a formal event. The invitation will set the stage for the rest of the ball, so make sure the invitation demonstrates how serious you are about the event. If the event is not the traditional tuxedo and long white gown ball, then deviate from the norm and have some fun inviting friends and family to the ball.

1
Determine a budget for the debutante ball and how much you have available to spend on invitations.
-
2
Shop stationary stores for invitation ideas. Many invitation stores have a sample book in their store you can flip through. If you have the extra money, go ahead and order some of their invitations. If it is a little too pricey, get some ideas, and move on.

Visit scrapbooking stores which can also have a wealth of information on party invitations. Consider making your own invitations. Borrowing supplies from a scrapbooker will allow you to spend more money on the paper and decorations for the invitation.

Send out invitations well in advance. The general rule of thumb is to send out invitations far enough in advance to notify everyone, but not so far that they forget the date. Family members flying in or driving a long distance may need an earlier heads up for the debutante ball date. It will also take a considerable amount of time to find the perfect gown, so give everyone enough notice.

Tips & Warnings
Don't forget that this is a formal occasion and an invitation will set the stage for the event. If the invitation looks cheap, it may take away from the formal appeal of the event.
Don't cut corners. Send out the invitations and don't just call and invite your friends. You want them to take this as seriously as your parents do.
Buy acid free paper so the invitations can be saved for years to come.
