Step 1
Begin by checking the "Coming Events" section of your local newspaper. If a hearse club has meetings or events near your home, you will find the announcements there.
-
Step 2
Search car buff magazines. National magazines may be a source of disappointment if they announce meets or events too far away for you to join. However, if a phone number or email contact is offered, you can follow up with that information to inquire about hearse clubs closer to your home.
-
Step 3
Check the Internet. You will find that there are some hearse clubs that are meant for long-distance members as well as local people. Long-distance members can swap pictures, stories, and generally have fun sharing ideas with other hearse enthusiasts. Check out hearse clubs at autos.groups.yahoo and Hearsedriver.com.
-
Step 4
Determine membership rules. Because no 2 hearse clubs are exactly alike, you need to check the different websites or phone contacts individually. Some hearse clubs are open only to hearse owners. Others welcome anyone who has fun learning about and admiring various hearses. Some charge a membership fee while others are free.
-
Step 5
Find out whether a club you might consider joining has an activity level that seems right for you. Most will offer a place to exchange information and photos. Others offer rallies, exhibits, tours and many activities that are not even related to hearses. Besides membership fees, the activities and benefits vary widely from one hearse club to another, so be sure a club offers what you want.
-
Step 6
Start your own hearse club if, in spite of all your enthusiasm and eagerness, there are no hearse clubs that meets you needs! Chances are you'll find others who share the same interests as well.
