When giving a presentation, projection light bulbs may be the furthest thought on one's mind. However, in the event the projector light bulb does go out, knowing which one to buy can be helpful. Believe it or not, there is an array of light bulbs used for overhead projectors. Choosing one is not as difficult as one may think.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Identify the model and/or brand of the overhead projector. This can be found either on the box in which it was purchased, or on the bottom of the overhead projector itself. This information is usually printed on a sticker; colors vary from overhead to overhead, but they can be silver or white.

  2. Step 2

Look up the model number on the manufacturer's website. It should specify which light bulbs will fit that model.

  3. Step 3

Identify the appropriate type of light bulb by looking for DYS, ENX or FXL on the burnt out bulb. These letters can help you identify the right replacement light bulb.

  4. Step 4

Buy light bulbs from a discount website specializing in multimedia equipment if it's cheaper than the manufacturer's website.
