Dance competitions of any sort are very exciting to watch, but especially Samba dance competitions which are electrifying! The Latin and African moves make it a favorite to see. Follow these steps on how to actually join the competitions and be in on the fun.

  1. Step 1

    Develop a winning attitude. Talk positive about winning and succeeding at the competition level. Dance teachers and dance judges advocate that competing is only part of winning. Your attitude development determines your competitive ability.

    Research the Samba culture of dance thoroughly. Learn the steps and moves of the dance completely. Understanding how the dance originated and developed will give you insight into what the scoring judges are looking for.

  3. Step 3

    Visit public online discussion forums that give information about locations and requirements for local and national Samba dance competitions. You may even learn a little about your competition.

  4. Step 4

    Find Samba dance competition announcements in the arts and culture section of your local newspaper or dance magazines. Contact the appropriate person about signing up for any competitions.
