• Racing program
• Racing magazine
• Computer

1. Get a program from a racetrack. From this you can see what you need to learn. Go over every term that you don't know or understand.
2. Visit racetrack websites to learn about betting and the terminology (see Resources below).
3. Read horseracing news in horseracing magazines. These magazines should explain betting terms in ways you can easily understand.
4. Go to a local track and talk to people placing bets. You can also find a time when the cashiers at the betting windows are not busy and see if they can explain some terms to you.
5. Have a friend who bets on horse racing to give you a few tips. The terms may seem hard to understand at first, but after placing a few bets and hearing the terms a few times they may be able to explain things.
