In a pinch, you can make a duct tape purse to hold your small belongings. Just follow these steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Cut out five pieces of cardboard for the purse frame. Cut two 7 inch by 5 inch pieces for the front and back, two 6 inch by 3 inch pieces for the sides, and one 7 inch by 3 inch piece for the bottom.

  2. Step 2

Cover each piece of cardboard completely in duct tape. Be careful not to trap bubbles. Wrap the ends of the duct tape onto the side of each piece that will be on the inside of the purse.

  3. Step 3

Tape the edges of the cardboard by lying it in the middle of a strip of duct tape and wrapping the edges over the sides. Use several small strips instead of one large piece.

  4. Step 4

Assemble the purse by taping the corners together. Place the best looking side of each piece on the outside.

  5. Step 5

Make a strap by using two long pieces of tape. Stick the strips together leaving about 1/4 an inch of sticky showing on each side. Fold the sticky pieces over so that there are no sticky edges. Cut the strap to the desired length, and attach to the purse.

  6. Step 6

Tie a colorful scarf around the strap for embellishment or attach a large silk flower. Change the embellishment to match what you are wearing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use different colored duct tapes.
  • Buy cheap ribbon or ribbon embellished with sequins to line the top of the purse.
  • Experiment with different sizes and shapes.
  • Use caution when using a box cutter.
