Things You'll Need:
- Mop
- Bucket
- White Vinegar
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Baking Soda
- Warm Soapy Water
- Laundry Detergent
- Shampoo
-
Step 1
Splish-splash, give him a bath. A simple bath can alleviate some unpleasant odors. Bathe your dog every 4 to 6 weeks with a gentle shampoo and warm water.
-
Step 2
Clean the carpet with baking soda. Since most dogs love to lounge on the floor, odors can linger in the carpet. Sprinkle the baking soda over the affected areas and let set for several hours (even overnight). Finish by vacuuming.
-
Step 3
Freshen your laundry. If your clothes smell of dog, add apple cider vinegar to your regular laundry detergent. About 1/4 cup added to your laundry detergent should get the job done.
-
Step 4
Scrub clean the hardwood floors. Use a 3:1 mixture of warm soapy water to white vinegar in a bucket. Mop it onto the surface until the odor vanishes.

on 2/24/2009 I have 3 dogs, and they all get weekly baths, and none of them have accidents inside, but when i come home from work, that smell is always there. I checked out the rgf guardian air plug in plus, and maybe i'm looking in the wrong place, but those things cost 650 EACH; how about something for ballers on a budget? lol

on 7/23/2008 Interesting tips! I have a very sensitive nose for odors and nothing I’ve used has worked better than the RGF Guardian Air Plug in Plus. I have one in my basement, bedroom, and next to the cat litter box! It eliminates those funky smells and makes me feel good about my house. I’d recommend it to everyone!
