  1. Step 1

Talk about the divorce with people you trust and do not keep your emotions bottled up. Find trustworthy friends and let them know how you feel. Contact someone at your church or a friend's church.

  2. Step 2

Look for divorce support groups. Use the Internet to join an online support group in the privacy of your home.

  3. Step 3

Keep yourself occupied, so you have less time for sad or bad thoughts to cloud your mind. Picking up a new hobby will help you enjoy life again. Try to find one that involves a friend.

  4. Step 4

Walk it out. Exercise is a great way to deal with any depression and anxiety issues. Exercise helps relieve the mind from stress and helps you to connect more with nature.

  5. Step 5

Contact a specialist such as a doctor or professional counselor. They are trained to listen and analyze your specific needs.

Tips & Warnings
  • If kids are involved never turn them against your divorced spouse. Talking bad about that person might not only damage the kids, but can be damaging to yourself by building up bitterness.
