1
Choose the beer and glass type you will be using. You can research what types of beers match best with which types of glasses. BeerAdvocate.com has a complete list of glassware for beer.
-
2
Open the beer and get a clean glass. A glass that has been chilled a few hours in the freezer first is best in order to keep the beer cold.
-
-
3
Angle the glass to 45 degrees and begin to pour the beer. When pouring from a bar tap placement should be in the middle of the glass, filling it about halfway into the glass.
-
4
Change to a 90-degree angle once the glass is a little more than halfway full and continue pouring the beer.
-
5
Complete the pour by leaving about 1 inch of head at the top of the glass. It releases the aroma of the beer and makes for a better presentation.

When serving beer at a party or event, be sure to have a variety to meet the preferences of all your guests.
You are not doing the person consuming the beer a favor by providing them with more to drink by not leaving a head on it. The head helps improve the beer drinking experience.
