    Instructions

      • 1

Create a template certificate. You may use Word or PowerPoint to download a template or manually create one for printing. If downloading, simply enter the employee's name and date.

      • 2

Format the page to Landscape rather than Portrait. This will be on the Page Layout toolbar in Microsoft Word. If using PowerPoint, the page will already be laid out in Landscape as a default setting.

      • 3

Insert Text Boxes in PowerPoint for the title of "Employee Recognition" or "In Recognition of Outstanding Performance". You can change the font for each text box individually as well as the font color. In Word, the text can be typed and spaced without a text box.

      • 4

Include the Company Name and Logo on the certificate. A Logo may be copied and pasted from another company document if it is saved as a picture file format.

      • 5

Include the date the certificate is being granted and a signature line from the immediate manager or human resources representative.

      • 6

Print the certificate on speciality paper. Certificate paper or parchment paper can be purchased at most office supply stores.

      • 7

Add an embossed stamp or gold certificate sticker for an added touch of professionalism.

      • 8

Purchase a certificate folder, and place the certificate in the pre-punched holes that hold the corners of the certificate. These folders will also protect the certificate from damage.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Be sure to spell the employee's name correctly.

    • Present the certificate in a staff meeting or company meeting, depending on the size of the organization.
