Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Begin by freezing the resin with an ice cube. After a few minutes, peel off the top layers of the resin, which should be hardened. Use only your fingernails to remove chunks. Other sharp objects could damage clothing.

  2. Step 2

Apply some sort of solution to the spot. The best is tea tree oil, which dissolves the sap or resin. WD40 and Googone can also be used. Read the product directions to see how long to leave the solution on the garment.

  3. Step 3

Wipe the solution from the stain on the clothing using a rag or tissue. Then blot with rubbing alcohol to remove all solution and tree resin.

  4. Step 4

Rinse well with a vinegar and water solution instead of blotting with alcohol for more fragile fabrics. This will also remove the solution..

  5. Step 5

Repeat the previous steps if not all tree resin is removed. Reapply the solution and then remove with alcohol or vinegar.

  6. Step 6

Wash the clothing in the machine alone until all sap, solution, alcohol or vinegar is removed.
