Regardless of the cause, there are many different kinds of antidepressants available to treat the condition. Treat Depression With Antidepressant Pills

Step1
Put the antidepressant pill in your mouth and then swallow it with a gulp of water
Step2
Drink the rest of the water to ensure that the pill makes it down to your stomach and doesn't get stuck in your throat.

Treat Depression with Antidepressant Concentrate

Step1
Measure out the amount of oral concentrate using the dropper provided by your doctor.
Step2
Mix the concentrate with the recommended amount of liquid.
Step3
Drink the mixture immediately. You may notice the mixture appears cloudy. This is a normal reaction and should not interfere with the effectiveness of the medication.

  • Talk to your doctor about the different antidepressants available to treat you. It may be more effective to treat your depression through certain kinds of antidepressants.
  • Take your dosage at the same time every day, usually in the morning or at night. If you miss a dosage, take it within 3 hours, otherwise skip it. Never increase the next dosage to make up for one that you skip.
  • Most antidepressants take up to 4 weeks to work. Don't be alarmed if you don't experience any effects during the first few weeks of treatment.
  • Look into other ways to treat your depression.
  • Only take the prescribed amount of antidepressant. Never exceed your dosage.
  • Do not make an oral concentrate antidepressant mixture and let it sit.
  • Antidepressants have a variety of side effects, which include irregular sleeping patterns, nausea and anxiety. Contact your doctor if you experience any side effects; you may be able to change medications.
  • If you treat depression through antidepressants, be careful of taking other kinds of medications. Even if you are just going to take an over the counter cold medicine, be sure to talk to your doctor to avoid severe side effects of the medications clashing.
  • You may experience the effects of an antidepressant for up to 8 weeks after you stop taking the medication.
  • When making an oral concentrate solution, note that there are only certain kinds of liquids you can use. Check the instructions.
  • Do not drink alcohol while you are treating your depression through antidepressants. The medicine can often dramatically increase the effects of alcohol consumption.
  • Be wary of buying medication over the Internet. Only get antidepressants from a pharmacy, with your doctor's prescription.
