Decide on the type of kickboxing class you want to join. There are some classes, such as cardio kickboxing, that concentrate on the cardiovascular workout and do not involve combat with others. There are also many types that do involve sparring competitively with opponents, such as Muay Thai, which is a more traditional form of the sport.

Pick a course that accommodates your level of skill, once you have decided upon a facility that is right for you. Choosing a course that is too advanced may lead to injury, and choosing one that is too easy may not challenge you sufficiently.
-
5
Ask the instructors what supplies you will need to participate in the course, such as protective gear and appropriate clothing. Don't be afraid to ask them tips about warming up prior to the workout, or anything else that might give you a competitive edge in the class!
