Give your online trainer all the information she needs to get design an appropriate workout routine for you. This will include information such as your personal fitness goals, any previous workout experience, current fitness level and any physical limitations you may have.

Follow your online trainer's menu recommendations. Based on the initial information you provide, your trainer will provide you with dietary suggestions to help you meet your goals.

Write down what you eat each day. This will help you keep track of your compliance with your trainer's menu guidelines. Make sure you submit your list of foods eaten each day to your trainer several times a week.

Keep your appointments. Whether you have scheduled emails or live chats by appointment with your online trainer, do not miss them. These sessions are critical to the success of your online training program. They are your opportunity to let your trainer know how you are doing and what you need to work on. You will get much needed input and workout and menu modifications from your trainer.

Ask lots of questions. You may need clarification on the right way to do an exercise or want to know why a certain exercise or dietary restriction is necessary. You will adhere to your workout routine more if you have all the pertinent information, so don't be afraid to bend your trainer's ear during your communication sessions.
