Find the Time to Work off Baby Weight

Step1
Delegate tasks. There is no written contract that dictates that you must be the one to run the household 24/7. So, figure out a plan where everyone pitches in to help with chores, meal planning and shopping.
Step2
Take advantage of the time that baby is taking his naps throughout the day. It's the perfect time to sneak in a few minutes of exercising to help work off the excess weight.
Step3
Ask and you shall receive. Don't hesitate to ask a friend or extended family member to come over to take care of the baby for a little while so that you can have some time to work out at the gym or to attend an exercise class.
Step4
Combine your parental duties with exercising. For instance, make it a point to take your baby out for a stroll after lunch. The fresh air and motion of the stroller will help the baby settle down nicely for nap and you'll be burning calories to work off the baby weight at the same time.
Step5
Plan a day outing with the entire family to get in some exercise. An afternoon spent hiking in the mountains (with baby in tow via backpack) or swimming at the lake or community pool could be just the thing.
Step6
Get the whole family into gear with a bike ride to the country or for a spin around the biking trails in your local park. This is a great way to burn off calories, energize yourself and spend some quality time together as well.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't forget the appropriate supplies when planning outdoor activities to get your exercise, such as sunblock, insect repellent and bottled water. It wouldn't hurt to make sure there's a first aid kit near at hand, too.
