Want to get an autograph without getting your favorite players mad?

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blue marker or pen.
  • Bring an object to get signed such as a baseball, picture, poster, etc.
  1. Step 1

Get to the game early. Batting practice is a great time for autographs. You are usually allowed in to the stadium two and a half hours before the game starts.

  2. Step 2

During batting practice you are allowed to go anywhere on the field. Try to get near prime spots such as the dugouts and the first and third baseline.

  3. Step 3

If an athlete is signing, approach them politely. Don't yell and scream, players don't sign for rude people.

  4. Step 4

Make sure your supplies are easy to access. The earlier you get to an athlete, the better.

  5. Step 5

Hand them the object calmly, don't shove it in their face. Make sure you smile and that the athlete knows you really appreciate it.

  6. Step 6

Try to put the object away as soon as possible so nothing bad happens.

  7. Step 7

Buy a case to put the object it. It adds to the appearance and it also keeps it protected.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to go during spring training. Usually athletes are more friendly.
  • Wait your turn and do not interrupt them if they are busy.
  • Bring a pen or marker, blue is the usually the best color.
  • Be polite and friendly.
  • Try to tell the athlete about yourself, not about the sport they play.
  • If you get an autograph, keep it protected, make sure it doesn't get banged up.
  • Don't bring more than one thing to get signed.
  • Athletes don't like to shake hands because they don't want anything slippery or sticky on their hands.
