How to tie a Palomar

Fishing Knots are nessesary to fish. Here is a basic but strong and reliable knot called a palomar.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • fishinghook, lure, or whatever you are tying on.
  • fishingline attached to a reel and pole.
  1. Step 1

    Double the end of the line over and slide both ends through the eye of the hook, or lure, etc.

  2. Step 2

    tie an overhand knot in the line but dont pull it tight. THIS IS IMPORTANT.

  3. Step 3

    Slide the lure through the loop of the overhand knot and wet the knot and pull it tight

Tips & Warnings
  • this a good knot but it does not allow crankbaits to swim very freely so there action is not as good.
