How to Pack for a Crop Night

Sometimes scrapbookers spend just as much time packing and unpacking as they do actually scrapbooking. Pack appropriately and you will have plenty of time to complete your beautiful pages and have less to carry as well.

Instructions

    • 1

Plan ahead on what pages and projects you want to work on during the crop. Pack your photos, papers and embellishments together so you can start work easily.

    • 2

Assemble a basic tool box which should include your favorite adhesive, ruler, pencil, black pen, scissors, Un-Du adhesive remover, photo cloth, water pen, X-Acto knife, needle, Sharpie marker, corner rounder and scratch paper. Keep the tool box packed at all times so you can be ready to scrapbook at a moment's notice.

    • 3

Pack a cutting system, including a self-healing mat, circle and oval cutters, as well as portable die cut machines such as the Cricut or Sizzix.

    • 4

Grab a small box of scrap paper in a variety of colors for paper piecing, die cuts and mats.

    • 5

Assemble a care kit for your scrap-booking nights. It should include headache medicine, bandages, tissues, mints and wipes. Throw in some candy for good measure!

    • 6

Include a grocery bag for trash, a seat cushion, a light sweater and a drink cup with lid. Load everything into a scrapbook-specific carrying case such as the Cropper Hopper.

Tips & Warnings

  • Bring non-consumables (such as rubber stamps) or tools you can share with your crop mates.

  • Do not bring everything! Plan what pages you will be working on and determine a realistic number of pages you will accomplish within the time frame. Bring only enough supplies to get you through the night.
