  1. Step 1

Start your search for a great South Carolina state park campground in the awe-inspiring Blue Ridge Mountain area. The state parks are lined up like a great green fence along the western border of South Carolina. The natural beauty rivals that of any area of America.

  2. Step 2

Travel just outside Columbia, in the Sandhills region, and you will find the Sesquicentennial State Park. The close proximity to Columbia and interstates make this park one of the easiest to find and also one of the most popular in the South Carolina state park system. Originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, this park has many up-to-date facilities, a 30-acre trail-lined lake, and picnic areas.

  3. Step 3

Enjoy some of the finest beach in America at the famous Myrtle Beach State Park. This beach, a popular vacation area for over 80 years, is synonymous with picturesque seashore. Camp in the last stand of oceanfront maritime forest in South Carolina, bask in the sun, and enjoy every minute of your seaside escape.

  4. Step 4

Reserve your South Carolina state park campground online (see below). The state parks system of South Carolina has over 3,000 campsites available so you are sure to find one in the 10 different regions of the state.

  5. Step 5

Search through the State Parks Department website and you can print out several of their very helpful pamphlets, maps and outdoor activities guides. Check out the South Carolina Department of Tourism website also, as they have up-to-the-minute information on things to do across the state.
