Things You'll Need:
- PayPal account
- Email account
- Writing and communication skills
-
Step 1
Search job listings for writers. Jobs for writers can be found on websites for jobs, writing message boards, blogs--even on Craigslist.
-
Step 2
Send an email to a potential client with all of your information. If the ad asks for things such as clips or a resume. Be sure and send exactly what it requests.
-
Step 3
Respond immediately to a client who sends an email back to you. They may be corresponding with other possible writers. Your quick response can make the difference.
-
Step 4
Be honest about your work schedule. If the client offers you a job with a deadline, let them know if you can make it or not. Keep in mind any other assignments you may have.
-
Step 5
Complete the job to the best of your ability and within the deadline. Good work will almost always lead to future work and can be put on your resume and in your portfolio.
-
Step 6
Set up a PayPal account to be paid for your writing. Most online work is paid online. PayPal is the most used payment tool.
