How to Make a Beach Bag From a Beach Towel

Summer fun is calling your name. But you don’t have anything to carry your sun tanning things. Follow these steps to make a fun and personalized beach bag out of a beach towel. You don’t need to live near a beach to make use of a beach bag either. This bag can be used for the beach, the river, the lake and the pool.

Things You'll Need:

• Beach Towel (any size)
• Sewing machine
• Thread color matching towel
• Scissors
• Marker

1. Buy a beach towel that fits your personality by style and color. It should be any average single size beach towel.

2. Cut 8 inches from width of the top and 2 2-inch strips.

3. Hem the just cut edge of the towel to have a finished edge.

4. Fold the towel in half with right sides together.

5. Mark the halfway point on the towel with a marker.

6. Take the 8-inch piece and sew it to the towel with cut edge lined up to the middle mark on the towel. Sew the piece together at the middle line and then sew lines to make pockets with this piece.

7. Sew the towel together on each side while right sides are still together.

8. Pick up the 2-inch strips and sew them right sides together.

9. Turn the 2-inch strips right side out.

10. Attach the 2-inch strips to the beach bag at the top.

11. Add a button and button hole for added decoration and function. Also you can add fringe and ribbon for decoration.

• Remember the bigger the bag the more stuff you fill it with; this can cause the bag to become heavy.
