For many of us, grocery shopping is a chore--something we would rather never do. Making an effort to have some fun at the grocery store will make this chore far more enjoyable and help pass the time.

From Quick Guide: Household Chores
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Grab a cart when you enter the store and ride it into the produce section like a scooter by placing one foot on the bottom shelf and pushing off with the other. An enthusiastic "weee" will add to the fun.

  2. Step 2

Choose at least one produce item that will stump the cashier. You'll feel very smart at the checkout and also feel like you taught the cashier something today!

  3. Step 3

Take advantage of the vegetable mist to refresh yourself before moving on.

  4. Step 4

Smell the flowers in the floral department and chat with the lobsters in the tank at the seafood department. Just knowing that you will enjoy your hot bath more than they will should be enjoyable.

  5. Step 5

Buy a box of your favorite childhood cereal. And then enjoy your maturity by moving on to your favorite adult beverage.

  6. Step 6

Ask at least one silly question of a fellow shopper or store employee.

  7. Step 7

Read all the tabloid headlines if you have to wait at the checkout, and pick up a candy bar or soda to enjoy on the way home.

  8. Step 8

Ride the cart scooter style out to the car, unload your bags and look forward to your next trip.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your grocery store plays music, take advantage and do a little jog in the aisle.
