Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Research the platform of the Green Party and decide whether you agree with the aims of the party. The platform, aims and other information about the party can be found on the official Green Party website. You may also benefit from reading local or state Green Party information.

  2. Step 2

Contact a local or state Green Party or chapter for membership requirements. As the party believes in grassroots organizing, joining at a local level often makes you a member of the state and federal Party as well.

  3. Step 3

Follow the membership guidelines to join the Green Party. You may have to fill out an application or pay membership dues to the local or state Party.

  4. Step 4

Register to vote as a member of the Green Party. You can obtain voter registration forms at any post office, have one mailed to you or fill out the form online. This does not limit your voting choices for general elections.

  5. Step 5

Participate in Green Party activities, organize or run for office if you choose. While you do not need to be actively involved, the Green Party encourages participation from its members.

Tips & Warnings
  • You must meet the voter registration requirements in order to register to vote. Go to the official Federal Election Commission website for more information and registration forms.
