During the summer months, people have a tendency to spend more money. There are more parties and vacations during this time which means you will need some extra cash to spend. With a little ingenuity you can find several ways to earn extra money this summer.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Hold a weekly yard sale. If you have a lot of stuff that you have been dying to get rid of, hold a yard sale every week or every other week during the summer. You will make some money and clear out some storage space.

  2. Step 2

Find a seasonal position. Many places hire only for the summer months and pay good wages to their help. Check out boardwalks, theme parks and resorts to see what positions they have available.

  3. Step 3

Organize a candle or jewelry party. Hosting and organizing candle and jewelry parties during the summer months is a great way to earn extra cash.

  4. Step 4

Perform odd jobs for friends and neighbors. You could water gardens, mow lawns or walk neighborhood pets. Advertise your services in the local newspaper.

  5. Step 5

Become a caddy for a golf course. You can work only part-time and the pay is usually decent.

  6. Step 6

Deliver newspapers. Many newspapers look for carriers to exclusively work during the summer months.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is important to look for age-appropriate summer positions. You may feel awkward if you are a lot older than the majority of the workers.
  • You must look for summer positions early. Many companies will begin hiring summer help several months before the season starts.
