Becoming pregnant is both an exciting and stressful time. You often are so busy shopping for the baby that you do not think about the maternity clothes that you are going to wear during your pregnancy. With many new fashions, there are many flattering maternity clothes available for purchase. Read on to learn how to wear flattering maternity clothes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Wear form-fitting fabrics. Instead of wearing an oversize T-shirt, put on a tighter shirt that contours to your body. It will make you look less frumpy and people will be delighted to check out your bump.

  2. Step 2

Buy low riding pants. Pants that fit under your belly are not only more comfortable, but are more stylish as well.

  3. Step 3

Try free flowing dresses. Lightweight dresses look flattering on anybody and the busy patterns will keep your figure looking great.

  4. Step 4

Invest in a pair of maternity jeans. Spend a little bit more money to get a good pair. These jeans, including pairs from Mimi Maternity are great looking and make you feel as if you are not pregnant.

  5. Step 5

Splurge on an elegant special occasion dress. For dressy events during your pregnancy, spend the money to buy a cute maternity formal dress. You will both look and feel great in designs made of chiffon and lace.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't begin wearing maternity clothes too early. The styles are made for women in their second and third trimesters and do not fit properly for women in the earlier stages of pregnancy.
  • Don't buy too many maternity clothes. Stick with a few basic items: a couple pairs of pants, dresses, tops and jeans.
