You have chosen an email company, which is a good first step, but to use your new software you need to set up your email account. Setting up a Eudora email account is not hard if you follow a few simple steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Gather some important information from your email service provider. You will need to know the name of your outgoing and incoming mail server. If you do not have this information, visit the website of your email service provider or call their technical support line.

  2. Step 2

Open Eudora and go the "Tools" menu. From the "Tools" menu select "Options."

  3. Step 3

Chose "Getting Started" to begin to set up your email account.

  4. Step 4

Input your name in the "Real Name" field. This is the name that will appear when you send an email to someone. It does not have to be your full name.

  5. Step 5

Place your address in the "Email Address" field. If you get your email service from the same company as your Internet service, this will usually be the user name you use to log on to the Internet, followed by the @ symbol and then the name of your service provider. There will not be any blank spaces in your email address.

  6. Step 6

Put your incoming mail server in the field "Mail Server (Incoming)" field and your outgoing mail server in the "SMTP Server (Outgoing)" field.

  7. Step 7

Enter your user name in the "User Name" field. If you get your email service from the same company as your Internet service, this will probably be the same as the user name you use to log on to the Internet. As with the other steps, contact your service provider if you are unsure.

  8. Step 8

Check your email to ensure everything works. At this point Eudora will prompt you for your email password.
