How to Get Comcast Video Mail

Comcast Video Mail is a convenient software tool for sending personal greetings, sharing digital photos or keeping in touch with family and friends while you are away. Follow these steps to get access to Video Mail through your Comcast account.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Verify that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Comcast Video Mail: a processing speed of 500 MHz or higher, a minimum of 128 MB of memory and an installed webcam with a microphone.

  2. Step 2

    Install Windows Media Player if you do not already have it on your computer.

  3. Step 3

    Connect to the Internet. Go to the Comcast website and follow the link to "Messaging." Enter the webmail page and select the "Learn More" link that leads to the Video Mail page.

  4. Step 4

    Click on the button "Download Video Mail Now." A pop-up window will appear with the prompt, "Do you want to run or save this file?" Choose "Run" to set up the Comcast Video Mail file.

  5. Step 5

    Wait for Video Mail to download. The process should take less than one minute with a high-speed Internet connection.

  6. Step 6

    After Video Mail has finished downloading, a Video Mail folder will be created on your desktop. Double-click the file folder and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. Now you are ready to start sending Comcast Video Mail.

  • Comcast Video Mail works best with the most current versions of Windows software. Check your software and update if necessary before using Comcast Video Mail.
  • Comcast Video Mail uses .wmv files exclusively. Do not attempt to send files in other digital formats.
