So the big day is on the horizon and you still have a few pounds to shed. Don't panic, it can be done. However, going on a fad or crash diet is not the best thing to do before your wedding day. You want to look radiant and healthy for your big day. The key to looking radiant, healthy and still shed those pounds, is in planning a Wedding Day Diet. Here's a guide to help you eat healthy and shed those pounds during the weeks before your wedding.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Calculate your target weight and how many pounds you will need to lose. A healthy amount of weight loss should average about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds per week.
Step2
A key element in any Wedding Day Diet is eating a balance of fresh fruits and vegetables, and lean meats such as chicken, turkey and fish. You will want to avoid high in fat dairy products and processed foods. Fresh is best and it will help you maintain your energy levels during this very busy time.
Step3
Eat 5 to 6 small meals a day consisting of approximately 4 to 6 ounces of lean meat and fresh vegetables such as green beans, asparagus or spinach.
Step4
Drink plenty of water! You've heard it said before, drink 8 8-ounce glasses of water a day. This is essential to a successful Wedding Day Diet.
Step5
Implement a 20-minute workout regimen three times per week that includes cardio and strength training. You can loose weight on a wedding day diet by adjusting your eating habits, but it is also essential to include some form of weight and cardio training to achieve the best results. Don't be afraid to make these workout sessions fun. Try enrolling you and your fiance in weekly dance lessons.
Step6
Create a calorie deficit. In order to lose body fat, you need to burn more calories than you consume. However, consider cycling your calories. This means that instead of staying on low calories all the time, take a periodic break by increasing your caloric intake for one or two days. This prevents your body from thinking you are starving it of calories and going into "calorie storing" mode. After one or two days, decrease your calorie intake again for a period of three days. Including this simple technique in your Wedding Day Diet will help you see quicker results.

Tips & Warnings

  • Drinking plenty of water will help you feel full and reduce cravings, as well as enhance the look of your hair and skin.
