Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Determine your species of snail. Conduct an Internet search to research your snail’s specific species.
Step2
Find out if you are legally allowed to sell your pet snail. Certain species of snails require permits to sell and purchase in particular regions. If you own a pet snail that requires a selling permit, you must apply for permission and wait for the application to be accepted.
Step3
Check your snail’s appearance. Note imperfections, both major and minor and determine if they are they superficial or symptoms of possible illness or injury.
Step4
Verify your snail’s health. Check for common snail health problems and make sure to eradicate all pests from your snail’s shell, body and habitat before attempting to sell. Selling an ill or injured snail may have legal, ethical or monetary consequences.
Step5
Make your snail available for purchase. List your snail in classifieds or take your snail to a pet shop to find a new owner. Verify that the snail’s new owner is competent and advised of the snail’s care requirements.
Step6
Prepare your snail for transport. Pack up habitats, food and other miscellaneous items for the snail’s proper care and safe transportation.
Step7
Transport your snail to its new home. Make sure that you have taken the proper precautions to ensure the snail’s safe travel, as they are delicate and the transport is sometimes even regulated.
Step8
Complete the transaction. Exchange your snail for money and leave it with its new owner, accompanied by its habitat, food and other items.
