There's nothing like returning to your alma mater to experience a taste of nostalgia, when life was simple and all you had to worry about was getting a great tan and occasionally making it to class. But if you're a bit nervous about attending your college class reunion, don't be. Here's a hint, everyone else is nervous too!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Reply right away. When you open the mailbox and you realize the letter from your college is not asking for any money, but actually inviting you to something, take advantage of it! Seriously, if you want to attend your college reunion, reply right away. This way you will secure your spot (as some major schools limit the size of theirs) and you will be able to make travel accommodations right away. There are usually way fewer flights and hotel rooms than people looking to attend.
Step2
Contact your inner circle. With people moving all about, some people might not have heard the college reunion was happening. Call, email, or write to your close friends to let them know it's occurring. This way they'll get a jump on making plans as well.
Step3
Get a makeover. No seriously. This isn't cushy advice on how you should just be yourself and not care what people think. The whole reason people attend college reunions is to check in on their old friends. See who's doing well and see who's doing poorly. If you're investing the time to go, invest the money to make yourself look good. Now it doesn't have to be a bunch of plastic surgery. But get the nails done, hair highlighted. If you're a guy, consider renting a car if you have a beater and buy a nice suit. It's important you be presentable. There is a greater reason for this beyond straight vanity. Attending college reunions are a fantastic opportunity for business. Home business, change of career type business, or even developing a network of parents and friends to baby sit. You have the advantage of familiarity with these people, do not underestimate that! People will gravitate toward someone they deem successful and shy from people they deem are not. Make sure you are in the first category.
Step4
Lose the grudge. If you had an issue with someone, stop holding the grudge. If somebody dumped you a long time ago, let it go. It's all in the past and if you really think about it, in the grand scheme of your life, that event probably doesn't matter. Which is why you need to just let it go!
Step5
Have fun! Don't be a stick in the mud and refuse to interact because you think you are better than people now that you've had your hot sexy makeover. Take the time to speak with everyone and treat them all with respect. This will go a long way!

Tips & Warnings

  • Book rooms with a block of friends. If you have a large enough party attending you may get discounts of rooms and flights!
  • Don't drink and drive. Whatever stupid behavior you might have done in college is far behind you now. You're an adult, be responsible and be safe.
