How to Make Party Favors for a Purse Party

A purse party is a great opportunity for a woman to create a completely unique and functional accessory. Many purse party hosts commemorate these events by thanking attendees with creative favors. The party favors range from edible delights such as purse shaped cookies to personal care favorites such as scented soaps and lotions. Making a purse party favor is a creative and fun addition to the party experience.

Preassembly of Purse Party Favors

1. Determine the number of favors needed. Make at least enough for the number of guests who have responded that they would be attending.

2. Select the container or packaging for the party favor. Purse shaped paper, cardboard bags, boxes and tins are popular containers especially if they are customizable. A variety of suitable containers are available at the Orientaltrading website.

3. Decide the type of filling for the favor container. Some choices to consider include edibles like chocolates or purse shaped cookies, travel size cosmetics like lip gloss, scented items like lavender lotion or decorative items like purse shaped picture frames.

4. Form a decorative base inside the container by filling the bottom of the favor container with two to four sheets of crumpled tissue paper. Use coordinating colors to add a decorative touch.

Assembly of Purse Party Favors

1. Place the chosen favor filling into the container. Do not overfill the container.

2. Fold one sheet of tissue paper in half horizontally and then fold it again towards the left to create a square. Turn the folded tissue paper once clockwise so it resembles a diamond with the folded corner facing down. Place the diamond tissue paper into the favor container with the folded point still facing down. Open the edges of the tissue paper to fill the top of the container.

3. Repeat folding with more tissue paper until the container is filled and the contents are no longer visible from atop the container.

4. Create and print tags on the computer. Each tag should at least state the event title, the date of the event and a note of thanks to the party attendees. Print several tags per page using the Envelopes and Labels template in Microsoft Word.

5. Cut apart the printed tags with decorative-edged scissors. Decorative-edged scissors are available at any scrapbook or hobby store such as Hobby Lobby or Michael's.

6. Punch one end of the tag with a hole punch and attach it to the container by running a ribbon through the punched hole and tying it to the container.

7. Decorate the purse party location with finished favors. When guests leave the party give them their own purse party favor to remember the experience.
