Bridal showers aren’t the last step before a wedding. Many women now host lingerie parties for brides-to-be. Some lingerie parties are girlie in nature and others feature sexy novelties and games. If you’re attending a lingerie party and want to splurge, there are a few ways to make sure you get the sexiest, best fitting bras, panties and nighties possible.

1. Narrow your choices. There are dozens of options with any lingerie party planner, even more if it’s a freelance party arranged by the hostess. Be daring, but don’t be swayed by a cute or trendy outfit that isn’t necessarily right for you.

2. Try on as many outfits as you can. Always make sure the item fits and flatters you. Even if it looks great on the hanger or in the catalog, it might not be the right style for you. Make sure bra cups fit comfortably and that nightgowns aren’t too snug or too loose.

3. Check out other items that might be for sale at the party, like candles, potpourri, jewelry or risqué novelties. They are usually less expensive than lingerie, and some of the novelties offered at the festivities may be inventive and hilarious!

4. Compare sizes, as well as bust and hip measurements carefully if ordering from a catalog or website. Many manufacturers have slightly different measurement specifications. Medium hips may be 37 inches on one company’s chart and 39 inches according to a competitor.
