Things You'll Need:
- Party invitations and envelopes
- Stamps
- Guest contact list
- Fine tipped marker pen to address envelopes
-
Step 1
Draw up your guest list. Gather contact information for all invitees, including cell phone numbers and email addresses.
-
Step 2
Choose a distinctive card for invites. Many are available from online printers, stationary stores and Target.com.
-
Step 3
Decide if you will charge admission to defray costs for a larger party. If so, include the admission charge on the invitations. The cost of party favors, entertainment, food and drink can add up quickly, so consider this option if you don't have big bucks but want to throw a great party with all the trimmings.
-
Step 4
Personalize! If you are good friends with some of the guests, add you own artistic sentiments to the card or make you own invitations with printing software programs. Or use the old-fashioned cut and paste collage method if you're feeling resourceful.
-
Step 5
Ask your postal clerk about a special rate if you are mailing a lot of invitations. Send out the invitations well in advance of the event. Then sit back and wait for the RSVPs to arrive.
