Planning a homecoming party can be fun and also stressful when it comes to sending out invitations. With the price of postage on the rise, sending invitations can also be very expensive. Most of our close families and friends own computers and have a personal email address. Sending out ecards makes it easier and more affordable to send out invitations when we are planning any kind of party.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Notebook
  • Pencil
  • Computer
  • Access to the internet
  • Personal email address

Step1
Sign up for a free email account. Start with a simple email website such Yahoo! mail. You could name your email account according to your party. Your email account name could be titled homecoming2007 or anything that could help you remember your login name.
Step2
Get the email addresses of all of the guests that you plan on inviting to your homecoming party. Write them down in your notebook for later use.
Step3
Search for free ecards. A great place to check out would be Hallmark Egreetings.
Step4
Find an ecard website of your choice. Since it is a homecoming party, you could search for something that has a fun party theme to it.
Step5
Click on the egreeting of your choice. Then click the "personalize button." Type the party details into the greeting area. Include the place where the homecoming party is, the time, and the date to RSVP by.
Step6
Type in the email addresses of the person(s) that you plan on inviting to the party into the "To" field.
Step7
Type your personalized email address into the "from" field.
Step8
Choose which date that you would like to send your invite. You can choose to send it that very day, or at another date. Click the "send button."

Tips & Warnings

  • For an RSVP contact, include your email address. It will make it easier for your guests to reply to you through email.
  • When one of your invites RSVP's, place a check next to their name in your notebook. This way, you will keep a running number of the guests who are attending your party.
  • Send the ecard at least two weeks before the party. It will allow enough time for everybody to plan and respond to your invitation.
  • Email your ecard to the correct email address. If they are not sent to the correct email address, you will receive an error message and your guest will not receive their invitation.
