How to Choose a Location for a Casino Night

Whether it’s a personal event, a corporate function or a charity fundraiser, casino parties generate excitement, interest, and are usually well attended. That’s not to say they’re all large, elaborate affairs, but the chosen location should be one that can accommodate everyone--and everything--comfortably.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Decide how large you want your casino party to be. The more people you invite, the larger a space you will need to accommodate both them and the gaming tables. If it’s only a few friends, a living room or basement will suffice.
Step2
Calculate your budget. Larger events will require rented space, games and dealers, as well as caterers and a DJ.
Step3
Pick a date, and give yourself ample time to make reservations. Weekends are the favorite choice for throwing parties, but hotels, caterers, and DJs offer discounted rates during week nights and are more flexible with availability. Also, popular locations tend to book up quickly on weekends and during certain times of the year.
Step4
Consider your theme, if you have one. Any venue with art deco flair would compliment a Roaring '20s theme. Likewise, Mediterranean architecture would lend itself to a Monte Carlo flavor.
Step5
Choose a central location. If you’re inviting people who will be coming from the same place, like work, choose a location close to the office. If you’re inviting people who live in different areas of town, pick somewhere that’s easily accessible.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep the night simple if it’s your first go at throwing a casino party. If it’s a success, more people will want to come the next time.
  • Don’t get too creative--or cheap--by picking a location way off the beaten path. While it may be a novel nook, it might also deter attendance. Remember, you want to wow guests, but to do that you need them to be able to find and get to your casino night.
