There are calculators you can find online that you can use to calculate just about anything. If you are trying to find out how much it will cost to go to college, relocate or pay your mortgage, there is an online calculator that can help you. If you need currency conversion or chemistry help, even potentially love help, you can find an online calculator for you.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide what you need. Some examples include amortization, hydraulic or cost of living calculators.

  2. Step 2

Search in a search engine. Any of the major search engines can help you find online calculators, but be sure to be specific on what you want. Type “conversion calculator” instead of “online calculator” if you need help with conversions, or even type “metric conversion calculator” to be more specific if you can.

  3. Step 3

Check Web sites with multiple calculators. Calculator.com and Engineer Supply’s Web site have several different types of calculators.

  4. Step 4

Look on trade specific sites. If you are looking for something that is specific to woodworking, for example, the American Wood Council Web site has a few different calculators you may find helpful.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you find a calculator that is helpful to you, it will probably be helpful to others trying to figure out the same thing. Let others know if there is a website or online calculator that was really helpful for you. You can do this by posting to trade forums or by letting co-workers know.
