Finding the right gift for Father's Day is often a difficult decision. One idea that may be great for Dad and the whole family is to take in a baseball game. Celebrating Father's Day at a baseball game can offer an exciting day for Dad and an opportunity for the whole family to be together.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Buy your tickets early. If you are planning on attending a baseball game on Father's Day, you need to get your tickets early because of the chance of a sell-out.

  2. Step 2

Get good seats. Take into consideration not only how close the seats are, but also if they are in the shade, if there is a good view and even if there is a chance to catch a homerun or foul ball.

  3. Step 3

Check the promotions for the date of the game. Many baseball teams, both major league and minor league, will offer special promotions for Father's Day such as a free cap for the first 1500 fathers to come through the gate. Make sure you know what the promotion is and when you need to get there if you want to try to participate.

  4. Step 4

Show up for batting practice. If you get to the stadium early enough you may be able to catch the teams going through batting practice, which is a great time to try to get autographs or get in a quick word with your favorite players.

  5. Step 5

Give your dad the all-star treatment. Make sure you come prepared to get hotdogs, beverages, ice cream, souvenirs and even a big foam finger. Do everything you can to make sure that your father gets the full ballgame experience.

  6. Step 6

Bring the whole family. The most important thing for your dad on Father's Day is probably to be spend time with his family. Make sure that if he has children that have moved away that they are at the game if at all possible. This can make for a great surprise.

Tips & Warnings
  • Father's Day happens when baseball season is in full swing, but if your dad is not a baseball fan, consider buying tickets for a football game, basketball game, NASCAR race or whatever sport your dad is interested in and go to the game at a later date.
