How to Choose a City of Heroes Archetype
Your choice of archetype for a City of Heroes character will determine the powers that will be made available throughout the game. The archetype will also greatly influence how you play. A "Blaster" archetype will offer ranged attacks, keeping you on the outskirts of a battle. However, a "Tanker" will have the ability to wade into the middle of a crowd of villains.

Determine whether you will be playing a solo character or a team player. The "Scrapper" archetype is the easiest to solo with. The "Defender" and "Controller" archetypes are best suited for team play.
