How to Start a Career in Modeling
You want to become a model but you don't know where to begin. Since you are starting out without any connections or representation, you must be creative to make your own breaks. Follow these steps.
Instructions

1
Put together a portfolio. Any model starting out needs a portfolio with professional photographs to present to potential employers and agencies. Hire a photographer with experience in putting together models' books.
-
2
Include your stats in your portfolio. This will include your name, contact information, measurements, height and weight.
-
-
3
Look for a modeling agency. Any aspiring model requires an agent to break into the business. Top agencies, such as IMG and Ford, will occasionally have open calls that will give you the chance to get signed.
-
4
Have composite cards and resumes printed. A composite card is a single sheet of photos that you leave behind along with your resume for perspective employers.
-
5
Move to a large city. Living in the country or the suburbs will not allow you to start a modeling career. You need to go where the jobs are: New York, Los Angeles, Miami and the like.

Tips & Warnings
Don't give your day job up yet. Breaking into the modeling field can take time and you need a steady income while you wait for your break.
Don't fall for scams. Make sure the place is legitimate before you agree to model for them.

I am highy interested in modeling for many reasons. I went through OST, but they were asking for $1000 and up just to get started and I do not have that kind of money. Although the registartion is free, to start your career is not. I am currently unemployed, but am looking. With the economy bad tody, it is hard to find a job. How do I start my dream career without paying such large amounts of money that i do not have?
