A thong is a narrow piece of cloth, also referred to as a G-string. It wraps around each leg, passes through the buttock, connects at the hips with a band of material and has a small patch of material in the front covering the genitalia. The thong became a popular article of clothing in the early ‘90’s and is worn by both men and women. To make your own thong, follow these steps.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Durable material such as plastic, leather or satin
  1. Step 1

Cut out of piece of cloth that fits snugly around the waist.

  2. Step 2

Secure the cloth at the hip by stitching with an inside seam just along the top of the material.

  3. Step 3

Gather the material from the back and bring to the front, bringing the material between the legs.

  4. Step 4

Stitch the fabric loosely in the front at the pubic area.

  5. Step 5

Cut out each leg away from the material using the secured front as a guide. Make sure you cut the material high up on the hips. When you step back into the material, the thong should expose the buttocks.

  6. Step 6

Trim the material in the front of the thong in a downward “V” cut, allowing room for the genitals.

  7. Step 7

Trim the seams along the inside sides and top of the thong. The string that falls between the buttocks should be trimmed closely for comfort. It can also be “rolled” before it is permanently stitched in the front.
