How to Draw a Car
Anyone can draw a car, from the most simple shaped for beginners to the most complex renderings of specific models for the more advanced. If just beginning, practice drawing a side view of a car by following the steps below. Draw lightly, have an eraser handy and be prepared to try many times before accurately depicting a car.

1
Have a photo of a car to represent, or at least an image in mind. Break down the image of the car into the most basic shapes as guidelines to begin.
-
2
Begin with one rectangle representing the basic height and length of the base of the car, including the hood and trunk. For most cars this will be a long rectangle.
-
-
3
Add another smaller rectangle on top of the larger rectangle to indicate the basic size and shape of the passenger part of the car, where the windows and windshield will be.
-
4
Next draw circles indicating where the wheels should be. It may take several tries to get the circles the right size, shape and placement on the car.
-
5
Draw a line curving slightly from one end of the large rectangle to the other, going over the top of the smaller rectangle. This will be the curving shape of the hood and truck.
-
6
Draw in windows, doors, hubcaps, windshield, bumpers, headlights and taillights. Add detail and color.
-
7
Erase original lines drawn in the beginning while details are added and shapes altered a bit.
