How to Sanitize a Fish Tank

Fish require minimal care, requiring only daily feedings and periodic tank washings. Maintaining a clean tank will keep your fish healthier. Follow these steps.

Instructions

1. Use a net to catch the fish and remove them from the tank. Place them into another safe container with water until the tank is clean.

2. Empty the water from fish tank.

3. Remove all accessories and gravel from the tank.

4. Wash the accessories with warm water.

5. Rinse the gravel in a strainer over the sink.

6. Use a sponge to clean algae off the sides of the fish tank.

7. Fill the fish tank back with water.

8. Return the fish to the clean water.
