1
Decide what kind of party you want to have. Select a theme for the party like movie night, lock-in, game night or a picture party. A movie party is a party where the groups eats and watches a movie. At a lock-in, youth meet and are locked-in until the next morning. At a game party, kids play games, eat and get to know each other. A picture party is like a scavenger hunt, but with pictures. Small groups of youth go with an adult, a camera and a list of pictures they need to take. This list includes things like having all members of the group up a flagpole, in a dryer or with a bald man. Give the groups a set amount of time to complete their tasks and see who gets the most pictures.

2
Find adults to help with the party. A good ratio is one adult for every five kids. Have the adults run games, serve food or watch over the kids.
-
3
Announce the party at least one month before the event. Hang flyers in the church and announce the party each week as reminders. Tell the youth to bring as many friends as they choose.
-
4
Pass out permission slips. If you are having a party where the youth are staying overnight or riding in a car with another adult, have the children's parents sign a permission slip.
-
5
Arrange transportation to and from the party. Hang a sign-up sheet in the meeting room for students who need a ride to the party. Providing transportation allows children whose parents don't have transportation or who don't wish to be out late to come to the party.
-
6
Prepare enough snacks and drinks for the group. Plan for more partygoers than are expected. Better to have too much food than too little.

Tips & Warnings
Make the party about having fun and fellowshipping. Have a short devotional but focus more on letting the youth get to know each other.
If a church van is not available to pick up kids, have a few adults with larger cars to pick them up and drop them off.
