Step1
Browse the romance book section of your local bookstores to see if there is a romance book group meeting there. If so, flag an employee to ask how you may join the group, or follow the instructions posted, if any.
Step2
Contact the Romance Writers of America (RWA) and ask for the name and contact information for the person in charge of the local chapter nearest you. From this person, you may be able to learn about a romance book group in your area and how you can join the group.
Step3
Read the classified section of any romance review magazines that you may subscribe to. There are usually a few romance book groups advertising that are open for new membership.
Step4
Join a romance book group that meets online in a discussion forum setting, such as Oprah's Book Club. With a valid email address, your free membership allows you to receive audio book excerpts and free enrollment in literary seminars presented via archived videos.
Step5
Attend personal appearances and lectures given by your favorite romance authors. Often, there is a question and answer period and open discussion that may reveal resources to a romance book group in your area.
