Find Out How to Join A Sci-fi Book Group

Step1
Check with your local library to see if there's a Sci-fi book group that meets in your area. If there is, ask how you can join the group.
Step2
Make inquiries at your favorite bookstores. Often, larger book retailers allocate an area of the store to a book group to meet for weekly or monthly discussion. Bookstores also run promotions for newly released titles, which often include book signings. So, as an added bonus from this venue, you may get to meet your favorite Sci-fi authors.
Step3
Join an online Sci-fi book group. There are many Web sites dedicated to facilitating online book group discussions, such as the New York Times Book Forum.
Step4
Consider starting your own Sci-fi book group. Advertise or post an announcement of your new book group in a local cafe or library and provide a form of contact, such as an email address. If you need more ideas on how to start your own Sci-fi book group, refer to "The Reading Group Handbook: Everything You Need to Know to Start Your Own Book Club."
Step5
Be an active participant once you join a Sci-fi book group. Prepare for meeting with the group by having a list of observations and theories made while reading a certain title. This will allow you to engage in discussion about the book.
