Bring the beach inside and create a warm atmosphere for your friends and family. You can accomplish this with a little creativity and a few craft and party supplies. A beach party can be held anytime of the year. In fact, it might be just the cure to spice up those winter doldrums.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Plan an Indoor Beach Party

Step1
Decide on a date to hold your indoor beach party. If you plan to have it around a holiday such as Memorial Day, give your guests plenty of notice, as calendars fill up quickly this time of year.
Step2
Plan to have the party flow into your backyard. This will offer prime opportunities for setting up tables, chairs and drink stations. Have the music equipment centrally located to provide the best flow of tunes for party goers.
Step3
Utilize buffet and serving tables for food. A beach theme is fun and casual, and you want the food display to mirror this attitude. Offer a selection of baked clams, barbecued hot dogs and salads to your guests.
Step4
Serve snacks in shell-shaped bowls and drinks in novelty glasses to emphasize the beach theme. Play a variety of surf music and songs with beach subjects to pay homage to your sandy theme.

Decorate for an Indoor Beach Party

Step1
Plan for a lot of decorating to re-create the beach. Make chair covers out of large beach towels. Use inexpensive beach mats with colorful ribbon glued to their edges as rugs. Have beach pails filled with sand dotting walkways. These can also be used as ashtrays.
Step2
Create a beach atmosphere. Encourage guests to come in beach attire. Suggest Hawaiian shorts, T-shirts, skorts, halter tops and sandals.
Step3
Give out party favors of sunglasses, seashell earrings and small towels. Fill plastic tubs with these items so that people can reach in and choose their own prizes. Buy Styrofoam surf boards to use as signs for drink stations, party favors and food areas. Use thick markers to write on these boards.
